Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (BUSINESS WIRE) — 3,020 employees were laid off as a result of a citywide 3,150-worker trading company being shut down.
The city announced the layoff on Wednesday.
The trading company’s owner, Cameron Trading Post, said in a statement that its assets have been sold and its employees are being offered new jobs at other companies in the area.
It also said it will continue to provide services to businesses and residents through its services.
“The trading post was established in 2007 as a small-business trading post by the city.
It had approximately 3,050 employees by the end of the fiscal year, according to a city release.
The trading post’s employees include both full-time and part-time workers.
